Confession: Even though Halloween is my favorite holiday, I really dislike its gory aspects, i.e. fake blood and slasher films. (Zombies are cool, though. Zombies get to stay.)
I mean, who wants a masked assassin chasing you with a chainsaw when you could be carving jack-o-lanterns, baking pumpkin desserts and dressing up as Pocahontas instead?
For me, half the fun of Halloween is the planning, so every year I go on a search for even more clever Halloween ideas to add to my collection.

Cut bats out of black foam for a weather-proofed outdoor decoration.

The best thing about painted pumpkins and faux pumpkins? They last longer than two days!
I love a happy, orange pumpkin, but these grey, lacy pumpkins are perfect for my upcoming “Boo-k” Club dinner.
